DueNest Privacy Policy

DueNest (“we”, “our”, or “us”) helps you plan and track bills, and optionally share them with others. This Privacy Policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

At a glance

We collect only what’s needed to run the app (e.g., an anonymous or linked account, your bills and spaces).
We do not sell your data.
We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore/Storage) and Firebase Crashlytics to provide the service and keep it reliable.

1. Data we collect

Account data: A Firebase User ID. If you choose, you may link an email address or phone number for sign‑in.
App content you add: Bills (title, amount, due date, recurrence), Shared Spaces and membership, payment status. If you upload files (e.g., receipts), those are stored in Firebase Storage.
App diagnostics: Crash logs and performance data via Firebase Crashlytics (device model, OS version, stack traces). This helps us identify and fix problems.

2. How we use data

Provide core functionality (save bills, show reminders, shared spaces).
Authentication and account management.
Diagnostics to maintain app stability and quality (Crashlytics).

3. Legal basis

We process data to perform our contract with you (provide the app), and for our legitimate interests in maintaining and improving the service. Where required, we rely on your consent (e.g., when you choose to link Google or phone).

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data with service providers that operate our infrastructure solely to provide the app:

Google Firebase – Authentication, Firestore/Storage, and Crashlytics.

5. Data retention

We retain your account and app content until you delete it or request account deletion. Crash logs are kept by Crashlytics for a limited period to troubleshoot issues.

6. Your choices

Use anonymously: You can use DueNest with an anonymous account and never link an email or phone number.
Link or unlink: You can link Google or phone for sign‑in and unlink later.
Delete data: Request deletion at our public page: https://duenest.app/delete-account.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit. We apply administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the risk. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. International transfers

Your data may be processed on servers located outside your country by our service providers (e.g., Google Firebase). We rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers where required by law.

9. Children

DueNest is not directed to children under 13 (or the age required by your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. We will post the new version here and update the effective date above.
